DREAMS ARE MADE OF VELVET//

Friday, December 2, 2016

Velvet is making its way back into the fashion world as well as interiors. I have been all about Velvet lately.Velvet is just that material that you could cuddle up in on cold winter day....with a cup of hot chocolate and your favorite Christmas movie playing. I love it.

I threw together some of my favorite velvet pieces.

1. This velvet chair is pure perfection. I love the mix of textures and the sleek frame. I need this chair!
2. You can never go wrong with a pair of luscious velvet drapes in a dusty rose hue.

3. This mid century modern crushed velvet sofa is such a statement piece. I am loving the brass legs.

4. I LOVE this ultra modern sleek gray velvet bench. Perfect addition for that lonely corridor.

5. This simple charcoal velvet pillow. Such a simple resolution for adding texture to your sofa or bedroom. Not to mention it is crafted by the talented Aviva Stanoff (Her son's name is Rocket- How cool?!)

This weekend I took a trip to GoodWill to see if I could find any steals. I ended up purchasing this amazing J.Crew camel wool skirt...for only 5 bucks.

This skirt totally inspired me to research some wool products that you can use in your home. Wool is such a diverse textile fiber and I stumbled upon a super cool company that creates tons of products that are wool. The link is # 2 on my list.

SUEDE SUEDE SUEDE!

The year of 2016 has been introducing a ton of different textures into our wardrobes and into our homes.

I have been on the search for the perfect suede pieces to add to my home for fall. Suede  has been spotted as the main fabric for skirts, flare pants, and fringe jackets. I am not a huge fan of suede on furniture due to the way that hand prints are easily shown, so I am constantly on the search for other decorative accessories.

With that being said I have found the P E R F E C T suede addition to add to your home along with some other pieces to compliment it. These suede tassel pillows are the perfect size (16" Sq.) to accent any sofa or chair. With the heat fading its way into cool breezes, you do not have to worry about ruining these with sweat or a wet swimsuit.

In this living room I added in multiple textures to  show off the suede. The mongolian fur and leather pillow contrast with the carmel suede tone. When designing any space you need to think of your space like you would an outfit. Accesorizing and layering can take your room to the next level in an affordable way.  Mixing textures is key to creating a space that is unique and harmonious.

Below are links to the items in this mood board!

Thought I would share some of my favorite pictures from my recent Denver trip. It was only for a weekend, but definitely one of the best and most beautiful trips I have had the pleasure of going on. Did I mention I got see Adele?!

I thought I would take a moment and round up some of my favorite spots for anyone thinking of going on a weekend trip to Denver.

1. Mount Evans Scenic Drive   This was spur of the moment. We arrived around 8:00AM and took a spontaneous drive. It was absolutely beautiful but TERRIFYING.

2. Acorn. If you love good food...this is the place to go! The interiors were stunning.

3.GroundSwell Denver  While in Colorado you absolutely have to tour a dispensary! We did our tour at 9:00 AM and it was insane.

4. Red Rocks Ampitheatre  This place was insanely beautiful. I would definitely make a trip back to just attend a concert. Fun Fact: During the day people use this place to work out.

5.Denver Biscuit Co. This place had the most delicious breakfast sandwiches. If you are into a savory breakfast you need some of " The Franklin" in your life. If you are more of a sweet person, try the biscuit french toast.
