For The Designer Lacking Inspiration

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

This weekend my boyfriend and I decided to visit the High Museum of Art. If you have not been, it is definitely worth the trip. They have so many fun and inspiring exhibits.
The first section we walked into was the Contemporary art. They had about 40 speakers set up in the center of the gallery and the music being played was The Forty Part Motet by Janet Cardiff. The speakers were placed into a large oval, with eight groups of five speakers. Each group was categorized by soprano, alto, tenor, baritone and bass. I walked around each speaker to hear them individually and then stood in the middle. I have to admit at first it made me laugh because outside of the speakers you are thinking "what the hell is this". But this turned out to be the most memorable experiences I have had at a museum.  It was absolutely enchanting.
Everytime I leave a museum I am always inspired. It is the perfect outlet to go and see works of art that give you a new outlook on life.
If you are a creative person you should always check on local museums near your area to see what exhibitions are currently going on and which ones are coming in the future.
Below I have attached some of my favorite pieces and some shots I took throughout the day.
Such beautiful texture on this crochet chair.
I need this in my life!
This gorgeous table has a leather top.
I could stare at this painting for days!
This was a steel and glass frame design. You could see your reflection which resembled being in a mirror maze.
